CCPM Dunedin Student Flats
Important Start of Year Info
Q. When can we move in?
A. You can move in on the day that your lease starts.
Q. How do we get into the flat?
A. If you are the first person into the flat please let your property manager know at least a day before you will be arriving. We will try to meet you at the flat to let you in, or alternatively we will let you know how to get a key. Please don't ring us from an uber on the way from the airport, or get to the flat at 8pm on a Sunday and expect us to be able to drop tools and meet you at the flat to let you in (as some people have in the past).
Q. Can we move gear in before our lease starts?
A. No, you can only move in gear from the time that your lease starts. Before then the property is not yours to occupy or store gear in.
Q. When do we start paying rent?
A. You will probably have paid a weeks rent in advance soon after you signed the lease. So you will pay rent from the second week after your lease starts.
Q. Do we pay rent individually or as a flat?
A. As a flat, one payment to our rent account each week (02-0938-0040898-01). So someone in the flat needs to be the rent coordinator. Please reference payments with the rent coordinators name and the Flat address.
Q. How do we hook up the internet?
A. Do your research to find the internet provider that you want to use and set up an account with them. When you get your modem connect it into the fiber box which is installed in your flat.
Q. How do we hook up the power?
A. Do your research to find the internet provider that you want to use and set up an account with them.
Q. How do we hook up the Gas?
A. If your house has gas hot water it will need two large 45kg gas bottles to run. Do your research to find the gas provider that you want to use and set up an account with them. On the first bill that they send you they will charge for an annual bottle rental. Send a copy of this bottle rental to us and we will reimburse it to you. The gas used is paid for by you. If you have a gas hob only then you will have smaller 9kg bottle already supplied. When this is empty either get it refilled as a gas suppler or do a gas bottle swap at a service station.
